Match Report: Scans vs JAS 0-1

Scans vs JAS 0-1

On Sunday the 13th, the Vikings team faced the Japanese All Stars, who for most of the season have been competing to avoid the bottom of the table. Both teams were chasing their first victory of the season.

Some of the almighty Vikings arrived to the pitch straight from the World Cup in Hua Hin, clearly still in recovery from their heroics on the way to the World Championship. Others came from the infamous Pattaya City in a touristic style, happy to have found a companion possibly for the next years to come.

After a good warm up and all the indications given by the coaches Nate and Eero, the well-travelled Viking warriors jumped into the pitch decided to bring the 3 points home. It was a well disputed first half, with few occasions for both sides but a physically intense game.

The second half started with the result still standing at 0-0. The strong physical pressure from the Japanese on the Vikings started to take effect and on a divided ball in the midfield, the opposition managed to steal the ball which led to the 1-0 putting them in advantage. The Viking team still tried to turn the score around but they couldn’t find the back of the net. An unfortunate loss for the team after a physical game, but more matches still to come and points to be taken.

Thomas was awarded the Tuna of the Match for his tireless fighting in the midfield. As always the players made it into the third half where they had the opportunity to meditate on the game with the help of a few beers.
