A tough fixture was waiting to kick off the second half of the season as Vikings faced top team Bullshead. The first meeting of the season between the two teams ended in a 1-3 loss. Lineup: Marcus; Joel, Stein, Breitner, Hallas; Mofok, Chris, Henrik, Jannik; Fran, Claus. It was the usual conditions with hot weather because of the early afternoon kick off. Bullshead aimed at keeping possession and making the Vikings chase the ball but initially the Vikings managed to hold their positions. And the first big chance came when Fran found himself alone with the keeper, but unfortunately his effort went over goal. Few minutes later Bullshead took the lead after a neat finish from their striker. 0-1. Second half was an even affair as Vikings tried to mount an comeback. The defense looked solid and often caught the Bullshead players offside. The midfield also competed well and did lots of running in the afternoon heat. Claus nearly scored a second when he had a shot just few meters from goal, but the keeper saved it. Apart from that it was mostly from corner kicks that the Vikings fancied their chances. Coach Mofok commented: This was probably our best game of the season, despite missing a few key players. New boy Henrik showed that he will be a great asset to the squad. When asked about defender Richard “B” Hammarstens injury situation, Mofok said: He’s taking great leaps forward and is actually ahead of schedule. It’s important not to rush players back after such horrendous injuries as twisted ankles. Normally it takes about two years to get back to full fitness, but we hope to have Richard back in less than a year!! Man of the match was Henrik. Match report by: Jannik
