Vikings lose Richard for the season – Trials for Danish pair

After landing awkwardly on his left foot during first half of last weekend’s game against BC Masters, coaches Mofok and Chris is sorry and saddened to face the fact that Richard is out for the rest of the season. The doctors at Samitivej hospital who did the MRI-scan (magnetic resonance imaging) on Richard gave him the verdict yesterday afternoon. 4 – 6 weeks on crutches and an other couple of months for a full recovery (no operation needed). This also means that Richard will miss Viking Cup in Beijing from 10-12th of April. We hope to see Richard in and around the team in upcoming fixtures though, IB might become WB… (water boy). We also want to thank Mikael for his time in the club, best remembered for his stunning goal against BSL Youth in mid-January. Thanks for your commitment and welcome back when/if returning to Thailand!

With these blows to the teams line-up coaches have for once acted quickly. Already in next fixture against Chinese Peking (1st March) we will see the comeback of quick wing man Martin Bjerner! He will stay in Bangkok for a couple of weeks and re-join the team in that period. Hopefully his stamina has improved during his months in Sweden, but coaches are doubtful. Rumors say that he gained more than a few kilos…

Two new Danish young boys, Mr. Christian Morris Hey (23 y.o striker) and his fellow Danish friend (23 y.o) will have their try-outs during next practice. Hopefully something for the starting line-up and an opportunity for coach Mofok to rest his old legs on the bench…?
