Vikings – Sunbelt 2-5

Bottom of the league clash as Vikings faced Sunbelt. It was a depleted squad with only 13 players available as Henrik struggled with an injury while Ruj and Hallas were out as well. Lineup: Marcus; Joel, Mikkel, Breitner, Stein; Fran, Chris, Martin V, Jannik; Arvling, Claus. Vikings played a solid first half with plenty of chances to take the lead. As it often happened this season it was the opponent that scored first when Sunbelt took the lead. This didn’t stop the Vikings who kept producing opportunities and it was Mofok who set up Claus for the equalizer. 1-1. Second half saw things turning very ugly for the Vikings. Sunbelt came out and pressured the ball very well and soon took control of the game. Vikings were lucky not to concede any goals and Claus nearly scored a third. But Sunbelt did equalize after a counter attack. 2-2. Shortly after Sunbelt took the lead and this completely changed the game as Vikings struggled in the heat. Sunbelt added two more goals before the referee’s final whistle to earn a 5-2 win. It was certainly a game of two half’s as Vikings looked like the better side until they ran out of steam. The coaches will be desperate to bring in some new transfers as the squad is lacking some dept. Match report by: Jannik
