Vikings Vs. British Club

An unusual Saturday

Vikings vs. British Club: 4-0

Goals: Jacob Soendergaard 2 (Assists Jesper Keis and Henrik)

Fisker 1 (no assist)

Chris 1 (Jacob)

Cards: None

Man of Match: Jacob Soendergaard

The battle against British Club was unusual in many respects – Vikings achieved a clean sheet with Sweeper in goal, Henrik didn’t score, Keiser played wearing a skirt and Jacob S scored 2 goals and became man of the match. Furthermore, C2 was coaching.

This interesting encounter began at 1 pm in Keiser’s apartment, where a group of Vikings surprised the left full back since he is getting married the upcoming Saturday. Wearing a fairly ugly outfit (obviously from Fisker’s house) the Keiser entered the Pattana pitches raising a few eyebrows among the competing teams. Some even speculated that he had been exploiting our sponsorship agreement with BNH Hospital by having a sex change operation during the week, but the Keiser buried this story effectively later on.

The match line up saw the Sweeper in goal, Fisker – Keiser – Mofok – Bomber in defense, Chris –Robin – Martin Breitner – Terry in midfield and Henrik + Jacob Soendergaard on top. Vikings started fairly solid creating chances and one came after a nice pass from the dress-wearing Keiser and Jacob finished it by hammering in a 1-0 lead. Henrik also finished off some great moves by hammering a volley towards the British Club goal, but their keeper somehow managed to save it – a move that became symptomatic with Henrik’s efforts up front as his shots were either saved artistically, hit the post or missing by an inch.

British Club had a few chances at the end of the half. They came too easy through midfield / central defense and on one occasion the Fisker had to give a penalty. Fortunately the BC striker made a miserable effort out of this great chance and the save was in fact so easy for Michael “you can call me Clean Sheet” Sweeper that he even kicked it straight out to another BC striker giving them a second chance, but this offer was declined as well.

Vikings finished off British Club in the second half and BC never managed to get real close to the Viking goal, among others due to excellent defending by Mofok and Terry. Up front Henrik set up Jacob’s second goal with some excellent tackles in the 16-yard box and the Fisker made it 3-0 after a 60 meter solo run. After having been bitching the Viking strikers for 60 minutes for their lack of scoring abilities (except from Jacob) he took the ball deep down our own half, passed 5 BC players and scored – truly a great goal with the only downside that the rest of us had to listen to him all night talking about it. Chris had an easy tap-in for 4-0 a few minutes from the end.

Jacob was voted Man of the Match for his great performance with 2 goals and 1 assist. Furthermore, we welcomed back Robin Nylen, who provided some much needed youth on central midfield and we saw the debut of ex-Jakarta Vikings midfielder Martyn.

Jesper Keiser finished the match still wearing his pregnancy dress. Immediately after the game he was taken to the neighboring Muay Thai boxing facility, where he got his ass kicked for 20 minutes and it took a few beers, some beef burgers and a pool dive at Livingstone in Soi 33 to recover from that experience. The recovery produced a top performance by the Vikings around the small sois of downtown Bangkok and the squad had a great time celebrating Keiser’s decision to enter marriage. It is widely believed that Keiser had a great time too.
